FRIDAY, 17th Street Bridge, CourtenayFRIDAY JUNE 4th - COURTENAY Friends of SOFT-CV are once again invited to join us for a sign wave in solidarity with old-growth ecosystems and with the forest defenders at the Fairy Creek Blockade camps. We respectfully acknowledge that we are gathering on the unceded and traditional territories of the Coast Salish and Kwakwaka'wakw peoples. As always, we ask that everyone participating in SOFT actions be prepared to practice roadside safety, wear a mask and respect physical distancing. We have a CODE OF CONDUCT card that will be made available to all new participants at our demos, outlining our protocols. It is bright yellow and can also be held up to attract attention and support from one of our safety monitors. We hope that folks who come out regularly to our demos will familiarize themselves with this card, keep it on their person at our events, and help organizers make sure that all new participants receive one also. There are many other ways to help! Here are just a few examples:- If you are interested in heading up to Fairy Creek or other nearby blockade camps, please visit laststandforforests.com/ for details. Familiarize yourself with the Rainforest Handbook and Code of Conduct: laststandforforests.com/get.../code-of-conduct/-Call Premier John Horgan at 250-387-1715 DAILY, and other elected officials, to voice your concerns! ...
