Spring Rebellion Week Kickoff

Telling the truth isn’t just about numbers on a graph – it’s about communicating the emergency as an emergency. We have seen our government, educational, and media institutions come together to deliver emergency messaging during the covid pandemic. We must do this about the climate and ecological crisis too. And since our most powerful institutions still refuse to do so – we will.

Come with a sign that tells the truth – be it scientific, emotional, local, personal, global or political! Write a poem, speech, or song, and speak out the truth! We will be vulnerable, present, and truthful in the face of the forces of delay and inaction. We will show them how.

Spring Rebellion

This is the year. The decisions made over the next few months will define the future of our world. The stakes have never been higher as time runs out to act effectively and decisively on the climate and ecological emergency. We are hovering at the point of no return and yet our Government continues to pave the way for mass death and extinction of countless species. If they won’t do what’s necessary to safeguard our future, then we must. This year, it is down to all of us to act.

This Spring, as part of the International Waves of Rebellion, Canadian rebels are taking a stand against their government from May 1th – 5th because of its reckless disregard for everyone’s rights to a safe, healthy, liveable environment. Because of its ecocidal policies that are contributing to the destabilization of our planet’s ecosystems. Because of its irresponsible management of our economy, propping up an oil and gas industry that has no place in the future of this country.
