Webinar on Planting and Protecting Trees for the Future

April 19, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Planting and Protecting Trees for the Future Webinar

Monday, APRIL 19 – Planting & Protecting Trees for the Future webinar, 7:00 – 8:30 pm

In Honor of Earth Week 2021, and the ‘official’ launch of Denman Island Climate Action Network’s (DICAN) website, Planting & Protecting Trees for the Future (PPT4F) is excited to feature five guest presenters on its first livestream event!
The need to both protect standing forests and plant billions of trees to help mitigate our climate crisis is urgent. As a DICAN initiative, PPT4F serves primarily as an umbrella social media site focused on encouraging the myriad ways tree enthusiasts on Denman Island and beyond can be pro-active. Please plan to join us through ZOOM at 7:00 pm on Monday, April 19th to hear from folks involved with a variety of hard-working environmental organizations!
Our guest speakers include Jens Weiting, Sierra Club (climate and international forest policy), Charlotte Dawe, Wilderness Committee (biodiversity and endangered species), Shauna Doll, Raincoast Conservation Foundation (Gulf Islands Forest Project), Patti Willis, Denman Island Conservancy (local land acquisition), and Rebecca Benjamin-Carey, HI Conservancy (Trees 4 Tomorrow)
